 JSON-LD is a JSON syntax for RDF. JSON stands for JavaScript Object Notation. It is a hierarchical structure of name-value pairs. It is an extremely popular format for APIs on the Web. JSON-LD stands for JSON for Linked Data. It adds the notion of context to provide a mapping from the JSON model to an RDF model. A context can be embedded in the JSON-LD document or in a separate file and referenced.
